French-Trained Derby Hopes Sweep Prixdu Cadran Placings Special to Daily Racing Form PARIS, France, May 10 Reuters. French-trained horses entered for next months Ascot Gold Cup filled the first four places in the Prix du Cadran over the Cup distance of two and half miles at Longchamp here Sunday. The winner by a neck was M. Georges Courtois Silex TX, ridden by Paul Blanc. The race, while the French equivalent of the Ascot Gold Cup, was worth 4,000 this year. Marcel Bous-sacs Elpener was second and the same owners Talma TX, 1951 St, Leger winner, was 10 lengths farther away in third place. Madame Suzy Volterras Le Bourgeois, who was third in the 1953 Ascot Gold Cup, took fourth place in the field of eight. Prince Rouge,, an outsider, owned by Madame Paul Hinzella won the Prix Hoc-quart over one and one-half miles for three-year-olds which is usually regarded as an Epsom Derby "Trial."
