GULF STREAM was saved well back of the paceJto the far turn, then moved up but was required to come to the outside in the stretch and finished well. ANDROS, while never a serious threat, finished fairly well. EN FLEUR was under restraint while following PHIL D. but failed to respond as usual when called upon. LION was never dangerous. MARETAZO trailed the field to the far turn, but apparently had something in reserve, then came very fast nearihg the stretch turn and although going wide in the stretch, caught FLEET ACE nearing the end to best him in the final drive. FLEET ACE was rated while following the pace of EASTER HOUR and had no trouble passing that -one when called upon, but was not good enough to hold the winner. SLICK KNIGHT was always a good contender, although racing a trifle wide. MERRY MOUNT was wide most of the way and turned in a creditable effort VEZLARK, lacking early foot, was in rather tight quarters in the preliminary stages and failed to threaten. MELS BEST tired.
