The latter wrested command nearing the stretch, attained a clear lead briefly and was unable to resist the winner. STRATO made up ground from far back. CAVESWOOD was crowded leaving the backstretch and failed to menace the top trio while making up ground. REMEMBRANCE made up ground. LAETERNAL was unable to shake off the early opposition and weakened. GRAHAM faltered after dueling for command. SHOEMAKER could not keep pace, nor could EXODUS.
