Buttevant No Preakness Entry PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 10. J. Barry Ryan, owner of Buttevant, who finished second in the Withers Stakes at Belmont Saturday, has decided against making the colt eligible to the Preakness through payment of ,500 supplementary fee. Ryan, formerly a stockholder in the Maryland Jockey Club, and his trainer, G. P. Odom, were pleased with Buttevants showing in the Withers but they are doubtful that he wants to go farther than a mile and they feel the mile and three-sixteenths of the Preakness is beyond his capabilities.
