Ussery Widens Advantage Over Fellow Suffolk Riders SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, taass. May 10. Bobby Ussery who had three winners here Saturday against a pair for Tony DeSpirito, is slowly widening his lead for jockey honors during the current meeting. With the halfway mark passed, Ussery has 26 winners against 17 for DeSpirito. Vernon Smith has 14 and then comes David Stevenson and Chris Rogers with 11. Stevenson is the only apprentice rider among the leaders. After three weeks of racing at Suffolk, trainers J. M. Keefe and S. Green Jr., are tied for the lead with seven, J. Melanson has six, while W. D. Sedlacek, F. Shaw and A. Donofrio are deadlocked with five.
