ROYAL NOTE, alertly ridden, took command early, raced TRICKY HOMER into defeat before entering the stretch, then responded willingly when ridden out and won going away. TEXAS BULLDOG, well placed from the outset, raced evenly to the stretch, closed strongly under punishment, but was not good enough for ROYAL NOTE. PRINCE ERIC began fast, then dropped back after the start and raced evenly in a good performance. MISTER CARTER, racing wide to the final turn, was unable to get to the leaders when straightened for the stretch run. TILE KING, in close quarters early, could not reach serious contention when clear. JOVIAL could not keep up. JA JA was never dangerous and had no mishap. TRICKY HOMER engaged ROYAL NOTE until inside the stretch, then weakened. PANMURE showed nothing. BILLYS GEM raced wide. FLEET FACTOR, outrun to the stretch, closed strongly 5 under punishment TONIGHT, away sluggishly, was rushed up fast after entering the backstretch and, forced to ease back when caught in close quarters at the dipper turn, failed, to recover. Won driving; second and third the same; CLOUDY DAY, forwardly placed from the start and ; within striking distance of the pacemaker to the stretch, responded to punishment during the drive and, disposing of FOXY DOLL, won going away. The latter began fast, set the pace to the stretch while engaging LANDMARK , GAL, raced the latter into defeat but was unable to hold the one. ROYAL TULIP, in close quarters at the -first turn, raced in hand when clear, finished determinedly, under punishment but could not overtake FOXY DOLL. BERYLDON, reserved to the stretch, was unable to better his position when set down in the drive. LANDMARK ; GAL raced nearest FOXY DOLL to the stretch, then weakened. TREADA BOY had a rough race. ROUGH ME i was never dangerous. TONYS TROUBLE could not reach serious contention. LA MOTHE, roughed in the jam at the first turn, failed to recover. SIR COBO was snugged into the back stretch and then failed to stay. JIMINY CRICKET, forced back in the crowding at the initial turn, failed to recover. Scratched 15832 Prince Consort, 117.
