HARTSVILLE recovered readily to assume a contending position after swerving leaving the gate, went to the front at the furlong marker and continued on gamely while in hand. ROXYS ROCKET stepped to ,the front at the start, gave way to the winner entering the stretch and, though unable to cope with the latter during the drive, easily prevailed over the others. WIRE LINE raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. OCCUPADO lacked a rally. BLUE LYRIC was outrun. MIDAFTERNOON was through early. MAS IMPORTANTLnever threatened. REMINISCENCE III. closed resolutely and rapidly was wearing down the leaders. LAWRIN JR. was compelled to take the complete overland route when starting his belated stretch bid. WHITE CLIFF, far back early, closed a gap. DASH FOR CASH lugged in continuously through the stretch while tiring. IDLE MEMORY had a rough trip. IDONTKNOW was never dangerous. MISSION quit. EN RAPPORT, away fastest, sprinted into a clear lead entering the stretch and held on gamely thereafter to retain a safe advantage over AUDREY LEE. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, was unable to overtake the winner when hard hustled through the final furlong. TWO STARS raced evenly through the stretch in a good effort. AZURE BEAUTY failed to sufficiently respond when set down for the final test. SILENT ONE, shuffled back soon after the start, was unable to recover and returned bleeding noticeably from a deep cut on the right fore leg. WEDDING GOWN was unable to keep up. HALF AS MUCH quit. The latter reached the lead between calls during the stretch run, but was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner. INCOGNITA forged to the front nearing the furlong marker, but was unable to cope with the top ones when subjected to stern pressure. GREEK LADY was unable to attain the lead and tired. The latter remained next the inner rail while within easy striking distance during the run down the backstreich, ■Qcntinued on the inside to reach the lead at the three furlong marker, then held on "tenaciously thereafter in a sharp effort. RIVERINA, unhurried when outrun early, responded readily after being guided to the inside for the stretch run, but was unable to overtake the leaders. QUEEN HOPEFUL, on the outside during the early running, remained in the middle of the track to gain closer contention on the near turn, came out for the final test, but was not good enough. PREFER DAN, a sharp factor from the beginning, assumed a clear lead after a half mile and continued on gamely thereafter winning with, speed in reserve. BINSCARTH was hustled into the runner-up position after being guided to the inside for the drive, but was no match for the top one. COCHITO raced evenly through the final furlong without mishap. BIG CLOWN, shuffled back during the run down the backstretch, came to the middle of the track for the stretch run, but was unable to endanger the leaders. JUSTA BREAK and CHERRY BRANCH were outrun.
