Best Bred by Charles Nuckols Makes Mark After His Death LEXINGTON, Ky., May 29.— It is one of the_Jronies of fate that the late Charles Nuckols spent many years in breeding only to have the best horse he bred gain prominence after his death. This is the current sprint champion White Skies. In addition, the elder Nuckols never had a chance to see in action the yearling that brought the highest price at auction of any of the hundreds that he had bred. This was Little Request who was sold for 0,000. Nuckols three sons, Charles, Alfred and Hiram, who are carrying on the breeding traditions set by their father at Hurstland Farm, have a filly foal who is a full sister to White Skies. It is the present plan of the farm to retain this filly for the farms broodmare band.
