Henry Green Directing River Downs Operations Official Voices Optimism Over Prospects for 44-Day Session . CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 29. — Racing Director Henry Green, who has been commuting back and forth between Beulah Park, Ascot Park and Cincinnati for several weeks, arrived on the scene and immediately plunged into the task of clearing the deck for the 44-day River Downs session, which will open Friday, June 4. Green will remain here to attend all matters pertaining to Iacing at the local track for the next eight weeks. As he peered over the hundreds of re- quests for reservations Green voiced optimism over the success of the meeting when he said, "There is little doubt in my mind that the 1954 session will eclipse any we have staged, here since taking over the track from its former owners. I believe that all previous attendance and wagering records will be shattered," Green continued. Over the week end the track was a beehive of activity with many stables arriving from Columbus, Akron, Kentucky, Maryland and Wheeling Downs. The stalls are rapidly filling and with the close of Ascot and Beulah on Memorial Day hundreds of other thoroughbreds will make the trek to the picturesque local oval.
