Y., May 29. — A tabulation of starters drawn from the New York area to fill out-of - - . tAiim town onoroonmenfc! engagements t.n- tAiim town onoroonmenfc! engagements t.n- today at Garden State, Delaware and Suffolk Downs totaled 22 horses. The principal beneficiaries are the stake offerings, namely the Wilmington, Jersey Stakes and Constitution. The latter drew one starter, while the others lured four and seven, respectively. This left 10 horses to per- per- form in overnight events. The number is not surprising, for otherwise the horses would have been idle, for none were eligible for the big event here, The Coaching Club American Oaks. Anyway, the starters shipped from here during the past few days appear to be the "ones from which the contention in the two offerings at Garden State and Delaware, which are located within 50 miles of each other as the crow flies. Monday no doubt will furnish a similar story, for on that day the Colonial will be the big offering at the New Jersey course, while the Braridywine is at Delaware. The Suburban is the time-honored feature at the local scene, and this event over the years stands on a firm basis that attracts the best. AAA Jockey Eddie Arcaro resumes riding on Monday. But, according to assignments, will watch the running of the Suburban in person or on the closed circuit television set in the jockeys room. . . . Joe Eit-inger, master of Marlboro Stud, hied over to Delaware Park to root for his Jet Master in the Wilmington Handicap. . . . Joe Donoghue, New Yorks ambassador to English and French racing, planes out Sunday for London and the Epsom Derby. He has not missed a running of the big race in more than a decade, but this year has a mighty important assignment. He is to carry one American type toothbrush to Joe McGrath, the Irisher, whose Arctic Prince accounted for the Derby a couple of years back. AAA Trainer George M. Jules Wessler took over the training of a couple of horses owned by Pat Dinehart . .Trainer Jack Skirvin reported the arrival of Star Comet owned by Danny VanClief , the Virginian, to ready for summer engagements . . .Mr. and Mrs. VanClief signified their intention of being present for the sale of horses in training in June. . .Trainer Oscar White shipped a draft of the Walter M. Jeffords to Delaware Park for that meeting... Harry F. Guggenheim, master of Cain Hoy Stable, was among the early arrivals from his Port Washington home. His Cherokee Rose was one of the choices for the Coaching Club American Oaks . . . Eddie Legere was a visitor yesterday. He stopped off en route from New England to confer with the Philadelphian Frank Rosen for whom he races a draft of horses under the aegis of the Palatine Stable. AAA Mr. and Mrs. Charles McDonough of Hartford, Conn., were among yesterdays visitors. He is an associate of Judge Dooley of Narragansett Park... Red Wingfield checked in at Jamaica with a draft of horses. He came on from Kentucky. . . Jockey Sidney Cole will be back here to ride on Monday after fulfilling engagements at Delaware Park . . . Spencer Drayton of the TRA was among yesterdays visitors. . .Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords left for Delaware Park where they will make their headquarters for that meeting . . .Mrs. E. S. Moore of the Circle M Farm left for Delaware Park where her horses will be campaigned under Frank Catrone . . . W. Haggin Perry accompanied by his bride of several months, the former Kath-erine von Stade, were early Belmont Park visitors and watched several of their horses undergo training trials. AAA Etoile Filante, a two-year-old by Coastal Traffic, owned by L. Lawrence in care of Maje Odom, suffered an ankle and foot injury while galloping this morning. The miss was decidedly lame indicating a possible fracture. . .Mr. and Mrs. Allie Reuben ►left for Chicago following the running of the Coaching Club American Oaks, but plan to return for the Belmont in which their Hasty Road is a candidate. . .John Turner, Jr., reminds horsemen that 17 stakes on the Monmouth Park agenda close at midnight on June 1. A reminder that the Jersey Central Railroad will use an all air-conditioned train during the , meeting was included with the information ... Construction work at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Fla., includes a new all steel concrete stand for colored patrons. The new building will contain all the facilities needed.
