PUNKIN VINE was lucky finding racing room next to the rail throughout and was smartly reserved, then closed determinedly in the final stretch and outfinished NIGHT BAKER. The latter raced to the front under restraint settling into the backstretch, remained in hand to the last furlong, then failed to stay under punishment. GRANULE was rated with the pace, then weakened when set down for the drive. JOHN B. P., crowded entering the first turn, lost distance being guided outside of horses and weaker, id. GARSTARA was forced back and wide at the first turn, then lost a winning chance running up behind horses at the four and one-half furlong marker and wes taken up. PARLOR PINK raced very wide into the stretch, carrying out DEB CHASER. WORLD SERIES was pinched back after the start. Scratched— 15323 All View, 117. Overweight— Granule, 2 pounds; Parlor Pink, 4. REUNION wore down contention racing on the outside, swiftly overhauled RAZZBERRY to open a clear lead in the stretch and lasted to hold SOAKIN WET safe. The latter began improving position after a half mile, came through, on the inside for the final stages and finished fast. ROADRUNNER was guided wide around horses, losing considerable ground and could not get up. RAZZBERRY raced along freely in front and quit in the stretch run. MR. DOIT weakened. WHIRLS BELL could not reach serious contention. HY POMP quit. ROYAL-GRANDEUR raced extremely wide. OLE VIRGINIE could not untrack himself. Scratched— 18064 Our Hespera, 115; 178122 Fred R., 108.
