Dr. J. E.Masterson, Veterinarian At New York Tracks, Dies BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. X, N. Y., June 4. A solemn requiem mass was offered in St. Patricks Church, GTen Cove, N. Y., at 11 a. m. today for Dr. James E. Masterson, 76, of 34 Richards Road, East Norwich, who died in North Country Community Hospital. Masterson, a veterinary, practiced on the northern shore for 50 years and treated livestock on many North Shore estates in recent years. A native of New York City, he began practice on Long Island race tracks immediately after graduating from Veterinary school. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Kate G. Adrian and Mrs. Laurette OReilly of New York and Mrs. May F. Cavanagh of Glen Cove. Burial was in Calvary Cementery, Long Island City. He had been hospitalized a week before his death. For many years Dr. Masterson treated the thoroughbreds for the Belair Stud and Wheatley Stable while serving with the late Dr. McCully, and enjoyed a good reputation with owners and trainers in the area during the years of his practice.
