HBPA Urges Lincoln Turfmen To Make Entries to Races LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, 111., June 4. Joseph Kohout, vice-president of tht Central division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, called a meeting of the horsemen following the third race today and urged them to enter their runners for Saturdays races. He pointed out that the Lincoln Fields management had acted fairly with the norsemen in making no attempt to reduce purses despite the many reverses suffered. Robert O. Read, chairman of the national board of directors of the horsemens organization, who happened to be on the grounds, made a similar appeal. Trainer Howard Wells then stepped up to enter a couple of horses and others followed. Due to the condition of the racing strip, entries were exceptionally slow today and for a time it was feared that the week-end program would not be complete before the day had ended. Ike Bassett, midwestern representativa of the Jockeys Guild, contacted the riders earlier in the day and not a single jockey expressed an unwillingness to ride.
