Tiger Flame Galloping Winner at ThistleDown Holds Ten-Length Advantage at Wire; Weather Again Miserable THISTLEDOWN, Warrensville, Ohio, June 4. O. and R. Pollocks Tiger, Flame, ridden by Edward Plesa, his second winner of the afternoon, scored a one-sided ten-length victory over Hasty Girl in one of the better offerings here at ThistleDown this afternoon. R. H. Mullen Jrs. Padukian was third, another two lengths back at the end of the six furlongs. The winning son of Tiger paid 1.60 and was timed in 1:16 for the .six furlongs. A crowd of about 3500 braved miserable weather conditions to be on hand for the fourth day of the current meeting which has yet to see a clear day. Once again, however, those who did attend were treated to formful racing as three of the publics choices scored through the sixth event. The first quarter of the race was the most interesting as Tiger Flame, Padukian, Chappys Pass, and Eldon M. were closely grouped. Tiger Flame started to show his superiority, however, as the field raced into the upper turn and at that time went into a five-length lead. 1 The running order did not change until late stretch when Padukian got a little weary of chasing Top Tiger and Hasty Girl from the outside moved into the runner-up position. Tiger Flame was winning his first race of the year having been fifth in his other two starts while at Churchill Downs. J. H. Rouses Beta Ray, a homebred bay filly by Beau Max Brunette, scored a thrilling half-length tally over the fast-closing Filly OMine in the third race. Double F Stables Robbys Miss was third, another neck back at the end of the five furlongs. Jockey Donal Bowcut, who was winning his second race of the meeting for trainer Tommy Stevens, rode an excellent race aboard the first-time starter. The filly was racing in the first flight from .the outset and then after disposing of the front-running Miss M. D. inside the furlong marker held sway over Filly OMine while being strongly handled. Beta Ray paid .60 and was timed in 1:05 over the sloppy course.
