June 4. The 0000 Livonia Stakes, a six-furlong allowance sprint for three-year-olds, will headline an attractive program Saturday at this modern Michigan mile track. The week-end feature lured a field of 11 quick second-year racers, including a pair of entries, and it shapes up as one of the best short distance fixtures of the current Wolverine State season. Keene to Ride Beanir Overnight favorites for the half -holiday offering is the H. H. "Pete" Battle-trained combination of Mrs. Otto C. Neumanns hard-hitting filly, Beanir, 114 pounds, and William E. Britts Aces Wired, 113 pounds. Smiths Lori-Jane, 111; Mrs. George C. Whites Trip Lightly, 108; C. D. Boyds Run Red Run, 116, and David Singers Hangover, 116 pounds. Dark horses in the Livonia are Cimmerona, a daughter of Barre Granite and Sis Lure, and Hangover, an Apache-sired colt. Cimmerona, lightly campaigned last year, won three of her five starts, one of which was the Governors Stakes at the Detroit Race Course and she was second to Beanir in an overnight event at the present meeting. Hangover was a double winner in 1953 and early this year posted four" victories against rather classy opposition in Florida. Jockey Tommy Barrow is engaged for Hangover in the Livonia and .the Hunts-ville, Texas-born reinsman, Robert Lee Baird, will be at the reins on Cimmerona. Kammy Williams rides Loose Rock, How-Craig will pilot Lori-Jane, Forrest Hplin was named on Run Red Run, and Vis Cook, successful with four mounts here Irhursday and leading rider at the local course, will have the mount on Trip Lightly. No ockey had been named at a late hour today for Bills Captain, whose top performance thus far this year was a triumph in the Academy Purse March 25 at Gulf-stream Park. Bills Captain sped that six furlongs in 1:10, defeating among others, Dagazha, Brachs Admiral, Pielettaway, Hoop Ring and Quite Happy. Chief supporting race on the Saturday bill is the Belle Isle Purse at six furlongs for three-year-olds "and older. Ivan D. Peats good mare, Sun Tan Gal, I. J. Collins Fair Pilot and W. M. Wiggins, Dai-quari are expected to come in for the major share of support over Duntreath Farms Dixie Flyer and Hi Billee, Henry Forrests Triumphant, and Triple R. Stables Avion. Racing secretary Charles J. McLennan and the members of his staff also programmed seven other well-balanced races and the week-end sport will get under way promptly at 2 : 00 p. m.
