BUZZ A BIT moved into command before a half mile, opened a commanding lead and lasted over the late challenge of REEDY CREEK. The latter, shuffled back in the early stages, worked his way up along the inside, was taken outside of horses in the drive and was catching the winner. BULL HALSEY, close up while forcing the pace, held on tenaciously. CARYS HOPE rallied under late pressure and finished stoutly. VINITA ED, in close quarters, went evenly when-clear. WILLOW WARE improved her position gradually. ATHAPASCAN gained a forward position early and flattened out when put to pressure. QUATREFO I L lacked early speed. LITTLE AUD, in hand close behind the pace, was forced wide on the final turn, responded to steady pressure in the drive and outfinished RIPPLE AIR. The latter, close up while forcing the pace, was forced out at the final turn, gained command and just missed. TACTFUL PILOT came through along the inside with a late rally and was catching the leaders. GEORGE ENGEL, reserved within striking distance of the leaders, benefitted as the leader drifted out, gained command along the inside and faltered. FRED G. dropped back soon after the start, rallied mildly when roused but was not good enough. MR. CURTISS lacked a rally. NIGHT DRINKER showed nothing.
