Jimminetty Seeks Fourth Victory of MRA Meeting Has Care Battle as Running Mate In Six-Furlong Foremen Purse By DON FAIR Staff Correspondent DETROIT RACE COURSE, Iivonia, Mich., June 24. ā€” Charles Currans Jimminetty, a consistent daughter of Jimmie and Wickliffe Gal, will try for her fourth success of the current Wolverine state season here Friday afternoon when she meets seven other useful three-year-olds in the six-furlong Foremen Purse. Jimminetty, who will take up 117 pounds in the sprint, will race coupled with the filly, Care Battle, get of Battledore and Case Again, scheduled to make her local debut under a 111 pounds burden. Jimminetty, a versatile performer on any type footing and capable of handling distances ranging from six furlongs to one mile and one-sixteenth, scored three straight victories at the local oval before finishing second to Eyes Image last week end. She won her initial triumph at six furlongs on a fast track, came back to beat a fair field in the mud over the one mile and one-sixteenth route and trimmed another band of seasoned performers at one mile on a strip termed good. Flicka Star Versatile Sort Jockey Howard Craig will have the mount on Little Don G., Forrest Kaelin is engaged for Peggy D., and Johnny Rotz rides Beitel in the Foremen. The veteran Mike Basile will be astride Twinkle Star, Lawrence Hansman is to handle Maidens Reward and Robert Lee Baird, who began the Thursday racing one winner ahead of his arch xival, Lois Cook, will be at the reins on Runacross. Best supporting number on the Thursday bill is the six-furlong Realtors Purse at six furlongs for lour-year-olds and upward. Al Wellmans Flicka Star, a five-year-old Lovely Night-sired mare, who will have the saddle services of jockey Rotz, is the overnight choice for the sprint, which engages eight hard-running performers.* Flicka Star won a trio of three-quarters mile races here, proving her versatility by scoring on fast, muddy and slow going. Slated to meet Flicka Star in the Realtors Purse are G and G Stables Eternal Goin, H. W. Spoons recent acquisition, Short Tint, and Boam Stables speedy but erratic Innis-free. Completing the probable starting field will be Andrews and Lucas Bolton, B. W. Simpsons Easter Hour, Ypsilanti Stables Sale Price, and Two-Ducks, who campaigns under the silks of T. W. and A. C. Ferguson.
