; ThistleDown Cup Lures 72 Nominees Find, Smoke Screen, Money Broker, Dinner Winner and Mr. Paradise in July 17 Race THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 24.— Alfred G. Vanderbilts Find, heads a list of 72 nominations made for the second running of the 5,000 added ThistleDown Cup to be decided at a mile and three-sixteenths on July 17. Find will be making his second trip to ThistleDown where last year in a sensational race defeated Buck n Gee in the Ohio Derby for his first stakes victory of his careen From here he went back to New York and won several more stakes events and this year is regarded as one of the leading handicap horses in the country. Another prominent nominee is Smoke Screen from the Reverie Knoll Farm of Chicagoan Freeman Keyes. Smoke Screen was second to the surprising Grover B. in this years renewal of the New Orleans Handicap, a race that the gelding won the year before. Smoke Screen also won the Bidwill Memorial that season while at Hawthorne. Tallied in Alger Handicap The G and G Stable, trained by "Tennessee" Wright, has named their handicap star, Money Broker, for the Cup. Money Broker won the 00,000 Florida Derby last year and his most important score thus far in 1954 was a tally in the Alger Handicap while in Detroit. Washingtonian Fillippo Baldi has nominated his consistent Dinner Winner who is trained by William Sacco for the Ohio race. Dinner Winner was a consistent win- ner this spring while in Maryland and is now racing at Delaware Park. Mrs. Ada L. Rice, of Chicago, has nominated Mr. Paradise who won the Washington Park Futurity several years ago and appears to have captured his winning form once again this season. If the Rice color-bearer should be sent here William Hartack would be on hand to do the riding. Other prominent horses named are Brush Burn, Buck n Gee, Euclid, First Glance, Inseparable, Larry Ellis, Ruthred, Ruhe, Social Outcast, and Sunny Dale. Last years winner, Master Fiddle, is now at stud at Ward Acres in New York. Oreo who ran a "dead game" second in the. race has been nominated once again by his Cleveland owners the Price brothers.
