Futurity Headlines Ak-Sar-Ben Card Fifteen Cornhusker-Foaled Juveniles in Each Division Of Split 5-Furlong Stakes By J. R. BATTY Staff Correspondent AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 24. — Nebraska-foaled two-year-olds will occupy the limelight here on Friday. Thirty juveniles produced in the Cornhusker state were entered for this years renewal of the Ak-Sar-Ben Futurity. The event will be run in two divisions, with 15 youngsters in each unit. A prize of ,575 in added money is offered in each division of the Futurity, a five-iurlong dash. The first division, posted as the fourth race, has the overnight entries of Nossis, Dee Trace, Major Buzz, O K Junior, Armi, Reighoma, Dean Bloom, Cold Taters, Smart Dr., Bonnies Boy, Royal Lois, Banker Bill, Omahat, Fire Red and Miss Rene. Making up the field in the other unit, the fifth race, are Ever Red, Max Tea, Dusty Princess, Run Win, Mr. Boomerang, OTulip, Wild Game, Gay Bobbie, Faithful Lady, Dots Powder, Miss Ashland, Yellow Locket, Norbert, Navy Chow and Royal Roy. Judging from recent efforts over the local strip, Armi, Cold Taters and O K Junior will probably be favored in the first half of this sprint. Armi Graduated Tuesday Armi, owned by Carl Miler, made her first appearance under silks here Tuesday and impressively earned her diploma. Armi won by two lengths over Royal Lois and Omahat was third, another head away. Cold Taters, property of Ben Berigan, gained a starting berth in the Futurity by virtue of his triumph on June 11 over the local strip when this bay son of Powdered • Milk — Theo Speck romped home by six lengths before Faithful Lady. O K Junior, a bay son of O K Mullen — Jane W., broke greenly in his first start and next time out finished fifth to Dog Fish. Morning trials turned in by O K Junior suggest he is a capable sort and must be accorded a good chance. OTulip, who will probably reign as choice in the second half deserves this honor on the strength of her very easy tally in the first start of her career. Owned by A. S. Hans, this chestnut daughter of Yellow Tulip took command in the stretch and rapidly drew away to score by seven lengths. Norbert, among those she will oppose Friday, was closest to her at the end of the four and a half furlongs. On Wednesday, Mrs. Earl Beezleys Forgotten Miss took a two -length decision from Rose Beam in. the featured race. Forgotten Miss, avening a nose defeat by Rose Beam in her previous outing, came from far back with a rush to take command in the final stages and staved off a belated surge from Rose Beam. Roman Secret, with a host of followers among the crowd of 6,451, gained j the lead in the stretch, "but faltered when the real test came and finished third.
