Shoppin Shoes Ready To Lead Throughout Ashby Mare Showed Early Foot in Last Outing at River Downs Oyal By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 24. Tomorrows early week end card is spotlighted by the Cincinnati Kennel Club Purse. An allowance test for the cheaper sort, the event is a six-furlongs dash for four-year-olds and older horses. The light field of seven, which, will be matching strides for a part of the ,200 purse, includes the Gold Acre Stables Top Attraction, Mrs. M. J. Hoydics Sir Thet, L. Madonnas Heathers View, E. W. Scogins Deploy, F. Woods Foxy Sun, Mr. and Mrs. H. Miller, Jr/s Third Stitch and F. M. Ashbys Shoppin Shoes. Shoppin Shoes turned in a fine effort last Saturday to run fourth to Mr. and Mrs. R. Conners Petroplay, J. K. Wyn-koops Marinikin and J. I. Works Refill. The distance was the same six furlongs and the Bolingbroke mare was on top to well inside the furlong marker to be beaten but two necks and a length. She has had six outings this year and when not too. highly placed usually earns a share of the purse. Top Attraction has been disappointing at this meeting but has won four races this year. Sir Thet was victorious last May 24th while going with some of the more valuable of his sort and has been running right up there at this meeting and could beat this band with some racing luck. The first and third races are for maiden sophomores and maiden two-year-olds, staged at six and five furlongs, respectively. The second race, the second half of the Daily Double, is a claiming affair for four-year-olds and older campaigners with the six panels as the setting. The fifth, sixth and eighth races are all at the one and one-sixteenth miles distance to vary the program very slightly.
