FLYING PAT, off quickly, took a clear lead after iving the backstretch and, racing in good form, withstood a stretch challenge from BLOODY STEP and had ough left at the end to hold CHEROKEE PILOT. The latter was outrun early, but saved ground where ssible and finished gamely. IDLE PLATTER moved up on the outside after entering the stretch, but showed tendency to lug in and failed to threaten seriously. BLOODY STEP weakened after having made a fair bid rnidstretch. LEWIS A. D. had some early speed. The others failed to be serious contenders. Overweight— Happy Age, 2 pounds. Idle Platter claimed by J. H. Nail, Jr. and M. B. Armer. ENTH RACE 1 MILE out of chute. BRECON BEACONS broke well but soon dropped back, t was never too far from the pace and, coming to the outside in the stretch, closed with a rush to be up to xh INSULATION in the closing, strides. The latter went to the front early and was taken under restraint ile enjoying a short advantage, then responded well in the stretch and just failed to last. STILTON moved up ;t on theoutside entering the stretch and was close up at the end. WOODSIDE also made a good bid in the etch. MENTHAPPY moved nearing the stretch turn ano went fairly well thereafter. . Attendance, 8,015; Total Mutuel Pool, 76,666.
