BROWN BOOTER was under restraint racing to the first flight from the outside down the backstretch, quickly moved to the front on the turn, but was steadied while trying to bear out, then opened a clear lead inside the last furlong and staved off JAMIE K. The latter was taken back and saved all possible ground on the first turn, had to circle extremely wide for clear racing on the stretch turn and finished fast KASTER raced to the pace going to the first turn, was rated along for six furlongs, then weakened under pressure. BLOOD TEST raced between horses most of the distance and finished well. EUGENE II. slipped through on the inside to reach the front at the half mile, but did not menace when clear. BOBS ALIBI was under pressure showing speed and quit. SOLDIER SON was rated early and quit when urged. GOING AWAY could not keep up. GO A BIT unseated rider and broke through at the gate, was quickly taken in hand, then had early speed and was in close quarters while dropping back on the turn. LARRY A., reserved off of the pace, was set down hard for the stretch drive and rallied steadily to catch COUNT FLAME in the final yards. The latter put away NOSTREBOR when ready, opened a commanding lead in the stretch, but failed to withstand steady punishment, then fought it out gamely when placed to hand urging near the end. GINGER BOOTS had no excuse. THEE AND ME weakened. NOSTREBOR easily set the early pace, but quit.
