Palm Tree Timed Fast Six Furlongs in l:12f Displays Fondness for Sloppy Strip; Fascinator Goes Mile AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 24.— Equipped with blinkers for the first time, the Greentree Stables Palm Tree visited the Belmont main track this morning and reeled off an impressive six furlongs in 1:12%. The three-year-old son of Shut Out displayed a decided likeness for the prevailing sloppy strip and gave every indication he has attained peak condition for his contemplated engagement in this years renewal of the 0,000-added Dwyer Stakes. Fractions for his trial were :35Vs, :47% and :59%. Palm Tree was the only eligible for the Dwyer .called upon for a serious move. Several others received either long gallops or were walked in the confines of their stabling areas. Fascinator, the Maine Chance filly who accounted for the Kentucky Oaks earlier in the spring, breezed a mile in 1:39%. She is expected to fulfill her engagement in Mondays Distaff Handicap. Without undue pressure, Fascinator stepped the. initial three furlongs in :35%, half in-:47%, five panels in 1:00, six furlongs in 1:12% and seven-eighths in 1:26. She galloped out an additional furlong in 1:53%. Her prep also was over the sloppy main track*. Divine Actress and Model Busher, stable-mates of Fascinator, took to the muddy Belmont training strip and, working together, went seven furlongs on even terms in 1:28%, handily. The former has been named for the Distaff. Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilts Home-Made and Outsmart, two other formidable candidates for the filly stake, compiled identical times of 1 : 02 for their respective five-furlong preps. Both were under steadying restraint. Brook-meades County Clare continued to train cleverly for the Edgemere, stepping seven furlongs in 1:33%. The Saxon Stables Invigorator, who has always displayed a partiality for the Aqueduct strip and who is expected to make his presence felt in Saturdays 5,000-added Edgemere, was sharpened by a half-mile timed in :48%. His work was termed handily. J. J. Amiels Mr. Turf toured six furlongs of the training track in 1:14 flat. His work was highly creditable, considering the holding condition of the racing surface.
