Her record was sufficient to make her the favorite, then too, she was in receipt of 20 pounds in actual weight from both Grecian Queen and La Corredora and nine pounds from each on the scale. Another who went out for nine furlongs was La Corredora, who covered the distance in 1:52, after having been crowded by Nothirdchance through the stretch. Spring Maiden to Imbursed The fourteenth running of the Delaware Spring Maiden Steeplechase was the sec- j ondary attraction on the card and the ,650 winners share went to Morris H. Dixons Imbursed, who prevailed by a, half length over L. R. Troianos favored King Commander. The two finished 12 lengths clear of Brookmeade Stables Bavaria. Imbursed was nicely handled by Eddie Deveau, a triple "bug" rider and the 30-pound pull he received from King Commander held him in good stead and he completed the about two miles 15 jumps course in 3:47. The winner returned .80. Bavaria was responsible for much of the pace in this infield event, with King Commander taking over on the final turn, accompanied by Imbursed. The latter out-jumped his rival at the final obstacle and held on determinedly for the victory.
