GREATEST saved ground when outrun to the last three-eighths mile, assumed command while under smart handling after entering the stretch and drew clear when ridden out. PAYTU, a sharp factor from the start, raced well throughout, but was not good enough for the winner, although easily best of the others. PICTUS lacked early speed, was sent around horses entering the stretch and could not threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. VIE went to the front early, set the pace to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. CIMMERONAwas outrun and had no mishap. " HEART FLASH had early speed, but failed to stay. Won easily; second and third driving. WAR TOKEN took command early, approached the stretch with a long, lead, then drifted out at the turn but came again when straightened up and drew out to win with speed in reserve. ATOM AGE, in hand to the last quarter mile, closed strongly under brisk handling but was unable to reach the top one, MR. DINK, steadied to the last three-eighths mile, moved up fast next to the inner l.n1lr,,n9,lne stretch, remained on the inside for the drive and tired while racing in the deepest going. MOCK TTLElackedearly foot but finished fairly well under urging. HARDHACK was never dangerous and had no : mishap. GAY JET tired after racing forwardly placed to, the stretch. HI BOB, never far back, bumped with PRITTY WATCH nm5."1 hen was unab,e t0 overtake COLETOWN MAID when straightened up during the drive. , PRITTY WATCH made a mild bid nearing the stretch, then faltered after bumping with HI BOB and failed to recover after being sent to the inside to secure racing room. "END TABLE lacked early speed and was never dangerous. WRANGLER was outrun and had no excuse. FINAL EDITION swerved to the outside at the break and was unable to reach serious contention thereafter. WOLF GAL, nicely ridden, saved all possible1 ground and was along to wear down CAJOLE and BEST AIR and then draw clear under urging. The latter raced in the first flight from the outset, gained a narrow advantage coming into the stretch and then was unable to hold the top one. CAJOLE hung in the final strides. SLIPPY finished willingly while between horses. TASK FLEET kicked a rally. M0R-SN00ZEY made up some ground in the latter stages after a sluggish beginning. WAL- -DOT-O tired. PASHPIE had speed in spots. ELAINE RUTH quit. HI DECKER was never a factor. MESTIZA trailed most of the trip. PINELET stopped to a walk after wresting command just after the start.
