Royal Vale Given 128-Pound Impost For Sussex Handicap at Delaware Park i i 1 1 3 f 1 ? i 1 c 1 E 1 Thouron Veteran Seeking i Second Straight in Stake; Find Pegged at 725 Level DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 28 Mrs. J. R. H. Thouroiis Royal Vale, in quest of his second successive victory in the 5,000 added Sussex Handicap, has been assigned 128 pounds for Saturdays seventeenth running of the mile and one-quarter jaunt. This impost represents a two-pound decrease from the weight he handled so convincingly last season while establishing a track record of 2:00. The English-bred six-year-old has been sharpened with three local sprint efforts, winning the last two after having placed behind Repetoire. His first score was the result of an almost unbelievable cyclonic rush in the final 20 yards, while as recently as last week end he breezed to victory in 1:10. Three pounds below Royal Vale in the opinion of racing secretary J. Gil Haus is Alfred G. Vanderbilts Find, who has been placed under 125 pounds. This homebred Discovery gelding boasts victories in the San Carlos and Excelsior, having won1 the latter event in his most recent outing. Brookmeade Stables Capeador is next in the weight allotments under 119 pounds, a position he earned through successes in the r1 i i . Tropical, A. B: Letellier and Thomas J. Healey handicaps and earnings of 2,000. He, too, last started in the Excelsior, finishing fifth while failing to earn a portion of the purse for the first time this year. Grouped in the "118-pound bracket are Cornelius Vs. Whitneys Col Command and James Cox Bradys Landlocked. The former, who was third behind Find in the Excelsior, is unbeaten in two starts over this track this year, following up his Brandywine Handicap victory with a score against allowance jsompany. Landlocked hasnt impressed since the winter campaign in Florida, at which point he accounted for the rich Widener Handicap over the Hia-leah strip. Rounding out the top half-dozen high-weights is Saxon Stables Invigorator. This Brookf ield colt was idle for almost a year and in his fifth start on the comeback trail was sharp enough to handle a good field last Saturday in accounting for the Edge-mere, in which he picked up a purse of 9,950.
