j Second Avenue, Dogoon Work Five Furlongs in 1:00 DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 28. A. G. "Lex" Wilson, trainer for the T. D. Buhl stable and the E. Gay Drake unit, had Buhls Second Avenue and Drakes homebred two-year-old Dogoon on the fast track here this morning for trials. Working in company, Second Avenue and Dogoon whirled five-eighths of a mile in 1:00, handily, posting the following fractions: Quarter in :23. three furlongs in :34, and the half in :47. Marion H. VanBergs Vantage stepped six furlongs in 1:13, handily, accompanied in the last half-mile by McGrathiana, while William Britts Narajo worked one mile in 1:43, handily, attended to the final quarter-mile by Hit the Spot. Mrs. Lottie Wolfs Cidermaii also turned in a sharp drill, moving five furlongs out of the gate in 1:01, handily. Brown Hotel Stables Old Fiddle sped a like distance, from the stalls in 1:01, and he was not asked for his best speed at any stage of the move.
