The Marica Purse, a six furlong race for fillies and mares, will bring, together a half dozen popular distaff performers of stakes caliber. It will go as the sixth event of the eight-race program here Tuesday and carries a ,000 purse. Top-weight in the Marica goes to Walmac Farms Gala Fete and Mrs. H. J. Damms Arab Actress. Each will carry 119 pounds. Louis Lee Haggin n.s Sally Catbird, Greenacres Stock Farms Sherry L. and H. J. OSheas Good Call get in at 110, while Mrs. L. J. Herrmanns Bloom has 105 with the apprentice allowance. Arab Actress dead-heated Ruhe for second in the Lincoln Handicap behind Sir Mango. Earlier in the Crete meeting she outdistanced The Eagle to win at a mile and ran second to Pomace in the La Salle Handicap. Cook on Arab Actress William McKinley Cook, who has been aboard Arab Actress in her four 1954 starts, will have Tuesdays assignment.
