WOODVALE HILLS assumed command at once, remained close to the leader for a quarter mile, regained the lead when roused, drew out and withstood the rally of DO-DO. The latter broke sluggishly, worked his way up on the inside and was pressing"the winner. LADY FLUSHING, a forward factor, lacked a closing rally. BULL KEYS improved his position gradually along the inside, challenged mildly and faltered. EXTINGUISHER was making up ground at the end. FIGHTING MAD had no mishap. BRAVE LASS flashed speed for a half mile and weakened. TIME HONORED was unable to keep up. DOM W. was never prominent. GIFTED BOOTS showed speed for three furlongs and quit. THALES, in closest attendance of the pace soon after the start, was moved up to engage for command entering the stretch and forged to the front in the final sixteenth. MY PREFERENCE drew clear soon after the start, dominated the pace and held on tenaciously. IDEALIST failed to better late position under stout urging. INLET MISS dropped back nearing the far turn, remained in a forward position when roused, but was unable to menace. START NOW passed tiring horses. OCCUPY-PASS, sluggish in the early stages, raced very wide in the final quarter mile. BASSINGTON showed nothing. COPIER retired after a half mile. CLOUDED SUN weakened after failing to reach the early leaders. MR. A. B. rushed boldly on the far turn and quit badly. STEWY moved to the front at once, drew clear, skirted the inner rail to increase the lead and withstood the challenge of YEARN. The latter broke with the winner, was outrun to the far turn, came outside under late pressure and was gaining near the end. CUE PASSE, slow to gain full stride, came inside with a late rush to better position. GLAMORAMA had no mishap. MR. HARP showed speed rounding the far turn and flattened cut in the drive. RED WAGON gained a forward position on the first turn, was moved closer to the leader after a half mile, assumed command on. the final turn, drew out and prevailed over ANTIGUA. The latter rallied in the final quarter mile and was pressing near the end. WAR FINISH, hustled to gain a forward position, was unable to -untrack himself in the going and retired steadily. LOW SKY saved ground to no avail. REAPING CUP was unable to keep up. WILD. JIMBO outran the field to set the pace for five furlongs and weakened. AGI-GEMNA was never a serious factor. JUDY ROUNDERS broke alertly, remained in close attendance of the pace saving ground, came out slightly in the drive, responded to stout urging and prevailed over ARMONK. The latter closed ground steadily, swinging to the extreme outside in the drive and was catching the winner. UNSPOILT, steadied in the final quarter mile, came through along the inside to vie for command in the late stretch, faltering in the final yards. BATTLE CHIEF forced the pace, gaining the lead after five furlongs, was unable to draw clear and weakened under a drive. NOTHING YET showed good speed from the outset, was in hand within striking distance of the leader to the final turn, moved up swiftly to assume command and withstood the rush of EABANI. The latter, sluggish in the early stages, came through along the inside entering the stretch, moved to the middle to the track and was overtaking the winner. ESMERO drew clear soon after the start, dominated the pace to the final furlong, shortened stride and tired. BARNEYS JOY, forwardly placed, lacked a rally. SWAMP THEATRE went evenly, racingwide on the turns. LUSCIOUS FRUIT was outrun. WISE CRICKET flattened out badly after failing to reach the pace in the first half. HEDGEBILL opened a Jong lead soon after the start, dominated the pace until the final furlong and had nothing left tb cope with the winner. CHIEF FANELLI broke alertly, came outside on the final turn, responded willingly, but was unable to menace. TOP SPRING was unable to stay with the pace, saved ground on the turns and failed to rally in the drive. FIDDLERS GIRL had no mishap. MASS OGOLD went evenly. BROOMMAKER was outrun.
