I Machise Is Unopposed For Jersey HB PA Post Nominated for Third Term With Division; Hold Election July 19 MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport N. J., June 28. John Machise, president of the New Jersey division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, was nominated this morning for a third term in office. No other nomination for the presidency was made, and Machise will be . unopposed during the July 14 elections. The nominations were placed during and meeting of the HBPA . in the trainers lounge on the backstretch this morning. A total of 22 nominations were made for the committee and other positions, but all of those nominated were not present and their names will not be released until they have indicated acceptance. Immediately after the nomination of Machise, a number of the division members took the opportunity to thank Machise for his efforts in behalf of the horsemen through his office during this past year. Under the presidency of the Hammon-ton, N. J., manufacturer and horseman, there have been pleasant relationsjwith all of the race tracks, and an increase of about three-quarters of a million dollars in purse distribution, which can be partially credited to this harmony. In a brief acceptance address, Macbiae stressed the fact that the HBPA mart strive to be fair to the race track manaie-ments, the racing commission and the pofc-lic.
