Breeders Trial and Champion Stakes to Be Run Next Winter SANTA -ANITA PARK, Arcadia, Calif., June 28. Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc., is mailing notices to owners of 571 -eligible two-year-olds, foaled in the state, that the 5,000-added California Breeders Trialand the 5,000-added California Breeders Champion Stakes will be renewed during next winters Santa Anita meeting. The eligibility payment of 00 is due on August 1, the same date nominations at 0 close for the 1956-1957 running of the fixture for young California thoroughbreds. The Breeders Trial will be run at seven furlongs early in the meeting, followed by the Champion Stakes at the usual distance of one and one-sixteenth miles at -a date late next January under similar conditions that prevailed last season. The original nomination and the August 1" eligibility payment take in both events, each with 5,000 added, with no additional payments except entry and starting fees. The arrangement for the two California stakes is made to provide a better opportunity for training horses up to the distance.
