Noch Eins Turns In Easy Rockingham Park Victory - Displays Fondness for Sloppy . Track While "Downing Hedgebill By AVERY BR" WN Staff Correspondent ROCKINGHAM PARK, Salem, N. H., June 28. Displaying a fondness for the slippy footing, Melpet Stables Noch Eins came from off the pace in the- featured Lisbon Purse at Rockinghan. Park today and registered an easy victory over J. Beals Hedgebill. The winning son of Bless Me, ridden by Darrell Madden, came to the end of the six furlongs in 1:12 flat" which was good enough to leave Hedgebill four and a half lengths in his wake. M. F. Drinkhouses Chief Fanelli was third another length and a half back. Phil Schwartz Charleston was a late withdrawal from the Lisbon, due to track conditions, and took some of the luster out of the dash. A switch in riders from Vince Spinale to Madden was made by trainer J. W. Melanson for Noch Eins and the. majority of the 7,335 patrons rightly installed the Melpet stallion as the favorite. They were rewarded with a .80 pay-off. y As was" expected, Hedgebill outsped his six rivals to sport a five-length advantage in the opening quarter mile which was run in :2245. Getting the half mile in :46, the leader still held sway but Noch Eins was edging closer and by the time the final furlong marker was passed, the ultimate win-nerf had drawrr to within a length and a half of Hedgebill. Madden kept after the onrushing Noch Eins and very readily, the five-year-old moved clear to annex his fourth score of the year. v
