ARDAN ROMP was shuffled about lacking speed in the initial three furlongs, raced into contention taking around horses, then came wide in the stretch, but wrested command and held BETWEEN US safe. The latter also lacked speed and was in close quarters at the six and one-half furlong marker, came to the outside for the final drive and finished gamely, but pulled up lame. An objection lodged by the rider on BETWEEN US against ARDAN ROMP, claiming interference at the six and one-half furlong marker, was not allowed. BRIEF REPORT was blocked on the backstretch and again on the final turn, but finished gamely. LADY ELEANOR weakened under pressure. LORD RUSTY began fast, , dropped back slightly being steadied on the turn, then lightly brushed with DECIMAL rallying with that rival in the stretch and gained a narrow decision. DECIMAL was never far back, closed in company with LORD RUSTY while brushing with that rival in the stretch and just missed. INDICATIVE was taken back to come outside horses on the turn and closed with a rush in the stretch. BAY OF BENAGL II. was hustled to the pace from the outside down the backstretch, opened a commanding lead in the stretch, but suddenly weakened as if short OLYMPIA WIZ broke slowly, sulked under urging, but finished fast. HELLO MOM had good speed and weakened in the drive. FIVE-BY-FIVE was done early. NOBLE SONG broke tardily. PALM TREE was in slightly close quarters rounding the first turn, but settled into a contending position on the backstretch, wrested command when ready and evenly held the opposition safe in the final stages. NIGHT BAKER, away slowly, circled wide rallying from the far turn and loomed boldly in the stretch, but hung. PUNKIN VINE dropped back from a good start rallied between horses on the stretch turn, then hung. MR. FIRST was lightly urged racing to the pace opened a clear lead between calls, but weakened under punishment NECKTIE easely set the pace for a half mile, then tired.
