He rightfully gained the title by makirig five appearance, winning three races, finishing second once and taking a show award on the remaining occasion. A seven-year-old gelded son of Four Freedoms Speak Low, Speak Free chalked up an easy tally the only time he competed at the current session. Going the same distance as requested Wednesday, the Rogers colorbearer succeeded under 117 pounds and hung out a sparkling 1:38 for this journey. His regular pilot, Kenny Clemes, is named to do the riding chores in the Stymie In the following race, Solar System and Shy Peg meet with Hi Decer, Texas Flash, Mary H., Best Air and Reterita. Solar System was co-choice to win the Imp on Saturday but, after making the pace until midstretch, this four-year-old filly shortened stride and was forced to settle for third position behind Betty Barr and Lu-ciete. She was a disappointing choice in her only other local attempt. She might have been a trifle short of peak condition on both occasions and, benefiting by Saturdays outing, could be hard to catch Wednesday.
