Report Jacobs Bros. Have Interest in Hamilton7Ohio Operate Concessions at Several Race Tracks and Sport Centers COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 21. A report that the Jacobs Brothers, leading sports concessionaires of Buffalo, N. Y., are "financially interested" in the new set-up for running races at Hamilton persisted here today despite the fact that William F. Snyder, Cleveland attorney, told the state racing commission he is the "sole owner" of the lease on the Butler County Fair Grounds course. Jacobs brothers operate the concessions at four sports strongholds in Cincinnati, near Hamilton River Downs, Crosley Field, Cincinnati Garden and Cincinnati Race Bowl. According to information on file in .the state racing commission office here, they are stockholders in River Downs. From the time running races were revived at Hamilton in 1940 through 1954, the concessions at the Butler County oval were operated by Charles N. and Glenn Hayes of Columbus. Glenn Hayes recently said here that he and his brother "prob- ably" would not be in charge of the Hamilton concessions this year. Snyders dealings for the three years remaining on the Hamilton lease are now being investigated by the state racing commission. He told the commission that he paid 0,000 for the lease. The commission Clamor from Detroit accompanied by has granted Hamilton dates for a 19-day meeting August 15 to September 5. trainer Mort Wolfe and jockey Sammy Williams who will be in the saddle for Saturdays engagement. Running over a muddy course in his last start at the Michigan track, Clamor earned an easy score by six lengths. His best stake effort in 1955 was a second to Blue Lem in the Biscayne Handicap in Florida. There was not too much morning activity but Clamor, with Williams aboard, worked a fast mile in 1:41, rather handily. Blazing Count was also sent a mile in slower time, 1:44 for the eight furlongs. The Barclay colorbearer was not pressed. Traffic Judge and Honeys Alibi were merely galloped. The tentative starting field, based on the arrivals and those expected includes Blazing Count, Blue Lem, Clamor, Goforward, Harold. L., Honeys Alibi, Momus Munchausen, Selinsgrove, Speed Rouser, Styrun-ner, Tile King, Traffic Judge and Trim. Destiny.
