r- 4 Detroit Headliner Dash for Platers Eleven Slated to Journey Postward rn Six Furlongs Trenton Kiwanis Offering DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 21. The Trenton Kiwanis Purse, a six furlongs claiming event for three-year-olds and up, is one of the better offerings on the program scheduled for presentation Wednesday at the local course. The offering drew an overnight field of 11 platers, representing 10 interests. Dave Zakoor, Jr., will saddle an entry in the dash; George Zakoors Boss John and David Zakoor, Sr.s Activate. Boss John, who will shoulder 119 pounds in the sprint, beat a fair band here June 9 in the mud, but he is also a capable performer on a. fast strip. His stable companion, Activate, dislikes off footing, but was good enough on June 4 to down Black Billings, Roll Bama, Reiber and Wagners Boiler Plate, Cimmerona, W. F. Salisburys All in One, and Equimore on a fast strip. All in One and Boiler Plate will meet Activate again in the Trenton Kiwanis. The former gets in with 113, while the latter is to shoulder 119 pounds. j Pierce on Boiler Plate Jockey Willie Zakoor will have the mount on either Boss John or Activate, Charles Clark rides All in One and Leroy Pierce is engaged for Boiler Plate. Marion H. VanBergs Greater, 119, and Tamarack Stables Bated Breath, 114, will meet again in the Wednesday feature. Greater, who will have the saddle services of Louis Cook, leading rider at the current meeting, beat Bated Breath June 3 in a three-quarters mile overnight race, a neck separating the leaders at the wire. Jockey Mike Basile, who rode Bated Breath in the sprint, claimed foul after the running, stating that Greater had forced his mount wide, but the objection was not allowed by the stewards. Basile again will pilot the Tamarack Stable plater Wednesday. Others expected to start are Grace Kosibas Sister Bigger, 111; Monarch Stables Coherence, 116, and John M. Harts Air Pine, 119 pounds. Also C. and P. Farms Jandy, 106, and Circle K. Farms Oiseau Rouge, 102 pounds. The apprentice allowance is claimed for Jandy. Young Larry Gilligan, an outstanding saddle prospect, will ride Jandy, Sherman Armstrong will be aboard Air Pine or Sister Bigger while Evan Jenkins, affiliated with the Circle K. establishment, will handle Oiseau Rouge. Four-year-olds and older will clash in the six furlongs first and second events, the one mile and 70 yards sixth, the one mile and one-sixteenth seventh, and the nine furlongs eighth race. Three-year-olds, exclusively, will go to the post in the three-quarters of a mile third offering. Piping Echo, Want-A-Bit, High Game, Eckheart and Princess Stell appear to hold good chances for victory in the latter event.
