Big Money Takes Measure Of Ferro at ThistleDown Half Length Between Leaders at Wire; Dead Heat for Show Money By J. R. BATTY Staff Correspondent THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 21. Big Money, racing for the Estate of Samuel D. Riddle, was seen in the winners circle following the featured race here today, with jockey John Nazareth wearing the famed black and yellow silks of the late sportsman. Big Money, a six-year-old son ofBull Lea War Kilt and bred by Riddle, prevailed at the end of five and one-half furlongs by half a length over Courtney Burtons Ferro, who was second in one of the most hotly contested events of the current session. A length and a half farther back, Star Z. and Tokalo finished in a dead heat for third position. Backed into favoritism by the crowd of 5,221, Big Money earned his second straight purse locally by speeding the distance over a fast track in 1:05. Trained by J. H. P. New Angle, who returned 5-to-l after winning the first race, and Intermittent, a 16-to-l chance victor in the second race, rewarded patrons 32.00 who had them coupled in the Daily Double. New Angle, owned by C. B. McNeill and ridden by apprentice Bobby Wall,- won by two lengths over Robbys Miss with Mandy Bossuet taking the show in this dash of six furlongs. Intermittent came to the end of six furlongs in the second race with four lengths to spare over Bold Blue while Sheriff Bracey completed the finish order. Hubert Trent guided Intermittent, who belongs to Seeley Killpatrick. War Dauber has made six starts this year all of them at this track and when he won the fourth race on the card, produced the third victory for owner Mrs. Leigh G. Bishop. A hard-hitting 10-year-old son of Dauber Flag Raising, War Dauber finished second once and twice third in his other starts. Todays tally was at the direct expense of Fenemor and War Dauber just lasted at the wire. Carnival Kid was third among the dozen who competed at one mile. Jockey R. J. Martin handled War Dauber who paid 3.80 and was timed in 1:40 Vs.
