Bill for Rotation of Racing Dates Beaten in House SPRINGFIELD, 111., June 21. A bill calling: for the rotation of racing: dates at Chicago area race tracks was beaten in the House here today. Requiring: 77 votes for passage, the measure, sponsored by Rep. Walter "Babe" McAvoy R.-Chicago could garner only 39 favorable votes, while five representatives voted against. Most of the legislators didnt choose to vote on the measure. TJie measure would have required the Illinois Racing Board to rotate the dates in Cook County, the tracks having the first set of dates one year, would have the last the next and then move up year by year.
