GO BETWEEN trailed the field for about seven furlongs, then came to the outside and closing with a rush was up in time to head ED THE GREAT in the closing strides. ED THE GREAT moved up on the inside in the stretch and, finding a narrow opening, came through to take a short lead nearing the finish and Just missed. MOKATUCK began his move sooner than usual and carried through with good courage. JUMBO LIES came to the inside in the stretch and was in rather tight quarters nearing the finish. GERRY FRANK and FEUD were used up making the pace and had little left. IRISH FLARE, although in tight quarters at the half-way mark, was never a serious factor.
