HAVE AND HOLD found ample room, steadily improving position between horses, and continued Strongly to win going away. LADY GLADE raced a trifle wide, showing speed, and weakened in the last furlong. MIXFORSOME began slowly, was steered around horses with difficulty in the final stages and finished fast. RED RIVER VALLEY made up some* ground late. RUFFRULLAH broke tardily, raced extremely wide, making a bold run into contention on the turn and tired while continuing wide through the stretch. MISS PIEDMONT could not keep up. TERRY S. was a prominent factor and lacked a final rally. RED ABBEY had to be steadied racing up behind the leaders at the far turn and failed to menace thereafter. BRIAR SWEET could not keep up. SLIDE APART was outrun. ALDO KID was not a serious factor. RUINED appeared to be sloughed leaving the gate and lost all chance. HAIL FELLOW was outrun. The latter began alertly, dropped back a trifle outside the top pair on the turn, then came fast through the stretch despite attempting to lug in. TOMMY GRIFFIN saved ground and finished well.
