Give Midafternoon Top Wilson Impost Decimal, Nances Lad and Boston Doge May Clash in Jamaicas Week-End Stakes JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 14. Coming as no surprise, Mrs. Edward E. Robbins Midafternoon was assigned top weight for Saturdays 28th running of the six-furlong Wilson Handicap with an impost of 126 pounds, conceding from four to 19 pounds to the remaining 24 eligibles. This marks the third straight time that racing secretary Jimmy Kilroe has assigned the five-year - old son of Billings — Mideau top weight, 126 pounds in the Excelsior, a test in which he proved successful, and the 128 pounds he was asked to lift in last weeks Grey Lag Handicap, which he passed up. Stepping Stone for Carter The Wilson, designed as a stepping stone for the Carter Handicap at seven furlongs, traditionally the richest sprint in the nation and up for consideration on Memorial Day at Belmont Park, has attracted a highly representative field of eligibles, for among those weighted in the higher brackets are most of the top sprinters on the eastern seaboard. Rated just under Midafternoon at 122 pounds is Edward Seinfelds Decimal, winner of a pair of six-furlong allowance races already this meeting, while at just one pound less comes Chester J. Caithness Nances Lad. Dropping just another pound and rated equally at 120 are Paul Ando-linos Boston Doge and Brooicfield Farms Impromptu. From here the weights drop to the 117 pounds assigned o Bwamazon Farms Jovial Jove and Howell E. Jacksons Tick Tdck. Grouped at 116 are Frank C. Rand Jr.s St. Amour H. and Brae Burn Farms War Piper.
