► __ ,297.20 Daily Double Posted at Lincoln Downs LINCOLN DOWNS, Lincoln. R.-I., May 14. — The Daily Double return at Lincoln Downs hit the four figure mark for the first time of the New England season, a ,297.20 being posted today after two longshots, H. F. Lukas Persevere and Sam Edmund -sons Dark Eda won the first two races. It was almost twice the amount of the previous-fiigh for the local year. Persevere, who finished tenth as the favorite last time out after being hung up and thrashing, around in the gate, won the opener by four lengths and was good for 4.80. Jockey Gail Parker rode Persevere, who led home Border Son while Sara-Chana and Terrebonne finished in a dead-heat for third. Dark Eda beat the favored Colonel Drew in the second and paid 2.00 straight. Todays Appreciation Day card was witnessed by 22,888, all who were admitted free of charge.
