Smithson Scores Saddle Double at Ascot Park Victories Come Consecutively Aboard Jr. Ireland, Blue Shoes By W. A. CRUSE ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. May 14. — Jockey Guy Smithson. who was highly successful in this part of the country as an apprentice rider last year, celebrated a double saddle victory on this afternoons card. In the sixth race, he paddled through the rain and sloppy going with Mr. and Mrs. C. Deans Jr. Ireland and, while taking the overland route for the better part of the seven furlongs, was a length and one-half the best of J. W. Whites Blue India. He negotiated the distance in l:31as. and returned his supporters a .40 straight mu-tuel. In the seventh race, he had R. W. Mahans BJue Shoes up in time to be a half length the best of A. J. Kirbys Saucy Me.
