j i I George White to Race 28 Head at Hazel Park Meet Trip Lightly, Speed o Light and Even Stroke in Turfmans String HAZEL PARK. Mich., May 14. — George White, a long-time "regular" over the Michigan racing circuit, is one of the earlier arrivals at Hazel Park for the spring season which starts a week from Friday. May 24, and continues through August 3. White, who usually supervises the training of an extensive string, has brought 28 to the local track including many tried and true campaigners over the Michigan courses. Among those bedded down were the handicap performers Trip Lightly, Even Stroke and the route-running Speed OLight. as well as the classy three - year - old War Trouble, something of a Hazel Park sensation last season. In his juvenile form this colt won five races, and has been given the entire winter to grow and fill out. He is to be pointed for all sophomore events during the coming 62-day season. Others in the White contingent included Colna, Ramblin Round, Fleet Wave, Carr Creek, Haveness, Roman Swords, Bright Bolero and others, many successful locally in the past with other newcomers in the ranks. An interesting and highly-regarded colt is a young unnamed son of Diamond Dick, a horse who turned in many fine performances at the old Detroit Fair Grounds track. Another arrival was William Zakoor with six head, the vanguard of some 20 others who are to be shipped shortly from Maryland. Zakoor has already claimed 28 horses this year, while losing 20 via the same claim box route.
