Won driving; second and third the same. STEPPING BOY started to rally after a quarter mile and, circling the leaders, wore down MRS. HELLEN inside the final sixteenth and quickly drew clear. MRS. HELLEN settled into the stretch with a clear lead but faltered suddenly in the final sixteenth when challenged by the winner. CRISS M., under restraint early, finished with good energy in the final run. KISER KING, in nearest pursuit to the leader, lugged in badly in the stretch run. MR. YON, with the pace throughout while saving ground, withstood a stiff drive to gain a narrow decision. DUN DANDY, forced to lose ground going to the first turn, reached command before a half mile and, after relinquishing the lead to the winner in midstretch, came on again in the late yards to just miss. PLATTERPUSS dropped back from between horses going to the far turn and raced evenly in the drive. TURKEYNECKOAKS had no response when put to pressure. Overweight— Dun Dandy, 3 pounds. GOLDEN FIDDLE attempted to rally with winner into the stretch, then faltered in the final eighth under pressure. MISS CUANT0S lacked a serious response. BRUCE was through after three-quarters.
