J « A ] ] 1 i ■ J 1 , ] i 1 « , 1 Several New Stables To Race at Hazel Park Bouriand, Bergens, Burkhart And Mahoney to Race Strings HAZEL PARK, Mich., May 14. — Many new "faces" will be seen in the Hazel Park horse colony for the 62-day meeting opening May 24. Among those making. a first appearance at the five -furlong course are Claude Bouriand Jr., with 15 horses headed by Colonels Image, Jet Defense and As-pasia. Others in the Bouriand contingent are Will Command, Mr. Kafferty, Power Play and Brass Rack. *- J. T. Bergens is en .route from Florida with six hard-hitting performers who showed good form at Hialeah and Gulf-stream Park. Tiger Dip and Total Traffic will be pointed for local fixtures, while Sareth, Champ Fleet, Collette Charge and Breezy Twin are useful performers. Kenneth Burkhart is another new name in the 1957 Hazel Park lineup. He is transferring his activities from Illinois for the first time in years. Babys Delight and Champ Sorter top Burkharts band, with Radar Clipper, Kathryn Ann, Hungry Dream and Vincent Miss well regarded. E. G. Mahony escorted 15 from Sportsmans Park, which closed Saturday. Best "horse" in the outfit, however, is jockey Jack Fieselman, one of the better pilots in Chicago. This will mark Fiesel-mans debut here. At top strength Hazel Park will cater to 1,025 horses, and all the stalls have been allocated with the major influx scheduled to get under way shortly now that the Sportsmans Park meeting has closed. Another large group will be leaving Kentucky when Churchill Downs concludes .its Derby meeting next Saturday.
