Iron Liege Makes Good Impression on Cutshaw PIMLICO. Baltimore. Md.. May 14.— Hes real alert and handled better for me than did either Fabius or Bardstown," jockey Oliver Cutshaw declared today after having worked Calumet Farms staunch Preakness favorite, Iron Liege, a mile yesterday in 1:37% for Saturdays middle jewel in the Triple Crown. "I guess the thing that fooled me about Iron Liege yesterday was his stride." the native Kentuckian said. "Hes a big horse and he really grabs out for ground. When he runs he looks for things and pricks his ears. I didnt notice trainer Jimmy Jones trying to flag me down until the -_ eighth pole." Cutshaw had worked Fabius last spring before his Preakness victory and was astride Bardstown when that gelding was prepping for the* Pimlico Special last November.
