1 BAINBRIDGE PARK NOTES T l . . : . 4 Representatives of the Ohio State Racing Commission were on hand early registering owners, trainers, jockeys and officials. JFrankie Hawley, in charge of the jockey -room here, reports that he has more apprentice riders than, jockeys. Among some of the younger band here are M. Ealey, Ii. Turner, J. Wray, W. Xang, J. Leonard, P. Polk, E. Soper, S. Hidges. Others include Joe Dyer T. P. Martin, Pedro Martinez, D. Edwards, Johnny Leyland, J. Fredricks, K. Long and R. demons. Stewards Robert S. Eddy Jr., John T. Ireland and John King were busy Wednesday morning going oyer the applications for licenses in conjunction with the racing commission. I. J. Collins, chairman of the commission, will race a string of ten horses on the grounds. A. J. Callahan is shipping fifteen" head from Charles Town, W. Va. Racing secretary Leigh announces that he has word that several stables will ship from Columbus, Hagerstown, and other points this week-end. Clyde Trout, Ernie Shipp and Frank Ser-erriba all have very useful strings on the grounds, including the handicap "performers Zekiel, Irenes Bob and others. Track superintendent Jack Brown has the Bainbridge track in fine shape and it has resulted in no end of favorable comment .from the horsemen. There is a very fine cushion and many horses, ailing with sore legs, have been coming along nicely. The: entire inner rail around the mile track has been shortened for general safety of jockeys. Two new fills have been erected at the "mile and a quarter and mile and a furlong post for; the easy movement of the new Bahr gate, which is being used for the first time here. The six furlongs chute has been widened and lengthened.- The grandstand and all approaches Have been painted and decorations have been hoisted for Decoration Day when a record crowd is anticipated. Managing director Joseph Cattarinich arrived here Wednesday from. Montreal where he visited the Blue Bonnets meeting following the close at Aurora. Some of the trainers registered on the grounds include H. Hockenbury, J. W. jChoisser, W. Day, James Buchanan, H. TMqore, J. R. Carlock, E. S. Janfcke, Jack Klucina, H. H. Chopin, j: W. Frye, E. Stable, .Barry Herendeen, Otto Bagley, A. K. Miller, Louis Te Latour, Smith and OConnell, W. J. Johnson, R. W. Bridwell, W. Sailee, R. Hoffman, M. Sanders, J. P. Kabich and others. A letter was received from Mrs. William Snyder, wife of the well-known starter, thanking his friends for their financial assistance. Snyder is in St. Marys Hospital, St. Louis in a critical condition. Some of the horsemen making application for stable room here include: E. D. Slavin, E. Warner, M. J.- Ayers, R. B. Richardson, J. B. Hubbard, C. O. Ray, Dr. E. E. Watson, S. Lasker, Clyde Lee, A. Marullo, Rader Brothers, C. T. Hall, L. V. Bellew, Roscoe Long,, J. Bronnenberg, Frank Hershey, J. J. Sir! and others. Another formidable string which is here and stabled at the Thistle Down course is fourteen head owned by E. K. Bryson. His list includes the speedster rogue, Pancoast, recently purchased from R. T. Watts for a price said to be in excess of ,500. Someone Else, High Santa and Hereward, all winners at the recent Pimlico meeting, are in the Bryson string. Dodiodo, the most claimed horse of the season, is also in Bry-sons band. There were eleven claims in for this consisten plater at the close of the Aurora meeting.
