BETWEEN BELLS saved ground in the stretch and was going well at the finish. GAN LEE had speed but raced wide in the stretch and tired near the finish. ANA X. was outrun to the stretch, then made up some ground. MARGARET NADI could not keep up. PAT BANE was outrun all the way. SCHOLAR GIRL was never far from the pace and, coming fast through the stretch, caught MISS KIEV and won going away. The latter moved up steadily after going half the distance and, heading the field on the turn, drew into a short lead, but although going well to the end could not resist the winner. TED HUSING raced well up. VOLGADALE closed some ground, but was never a serious contender. PUMICE STONE had early speed, but tired. BURNING UP dropped far out of it soon after the start.
