ARIEL ATTACK took command under hustling tactics, was steadied on the turn and, continuing well under energetic handling in the stretch, held her margin safe. PEDANT, away slowly and under strong riding throughout, moved up on the stretch turn and held on gamely, to, the end. CHATTER WRACK raced wide in the final three-eighths and closed in determined fashion. SPJCEBOX, away fast, was taken out on the turn, returned to the inside in the stretch and tired but under stronger handling might have outfinished CHATTER WRACK. REAL SPORT had no mishaps. TORNADIC forced the early pace under light restraint, came wide into the stretch, stood energetic riding gamely and, bearing over in the final eighth, forced back TRANSFUN in the last fifty yards, for which he was disqualified. TRANSFUN, fractious at the post and also under light reserve early, challenged jfamely when placed to pressure and, lacking room between the winner and the rail when going resolutely in the last fifty yards, had to be taken back. TERPSICHORE received a hustling ride and began to falter after reaching the stretch. MARGARET G. failed to keep up in the stretch. ZORANA was outrun. Won driving; second and third the same. , LEADING ARTICLE, a sharp factor from the start and under restraint for five-eighths, was between GRAND DUKE and BEL ESPOIR when placed to stout urging soon after reaching the stretch and, closing with determination, won drawing clear. GRAND DUKE showed good speed -from the start, was on the inside after about three-eighths and held on well, but was not good enough. BEL ESPOIR raced wide, improved her position gradually, but tired in the final eighth. WISE DUKE, on the inside early and taken back when in close quarters on the far turn, was slow to rally when clear, but was going well in the late stages. JUDGE LEER could not get up. MORE NEWS quit. The latter, improved, and raced wide, was. under stout restraint for seven-eighths and held on gamely in the drive. RED ROGUE, well rated, saved ground where possible but tired after a mile.
